CPSC 203: Midterm exam information

Grades

General information:

Exam weight: 20% of overall course grade
Duration: 50 Minutes
Date/location: It will be held in the second lecture during the week of October 28 - November 3 (L02: Your exam be during the first 50 minutes of the Wednesday, October 31st lecture, L03: Your exam will be during the first 50 minutes of the Thursday November 1st lecture).
This is a closed book exam: No electronic devices (e.g., cell phones) or computational aids (e.g., calculators, laptops, hand computers, slide rules, abaci) will be allowed).

Instructions:

When you are done hand in your multiple choice bubble sheet and the question booklet at the front.

Instructions for the multiple choice questions:

Pick the best answer for each question.
Mark your answers and contact information with an HB pencil or darker.
Make sure that you fill in all the labelled categories regarding your contact information on the computerized bubble sheet.

· Make sure you fill in all your answers in the computerized bubble sheets and not in this exam.

Exam review

During the first lectures during the week of October 28 - November 3 (L02: This will be during the lecture on Monday October 29th, L03: This will be during the lecture on Tuesday October 30th) I will be holding a review session. If possible I will reserve some of that time for an extra help session where you can individually ask me questions.

Breakdown of the exam according to section

	In total there will be 40 questions on your exam.
Although I may cover additional topics prior to your exam (e.g., numbers and logic), these topics won't be include on your exam.

Exam questions will be drawn from the lecture material (the slides outline the concepts but by themselves won't be sufficient for the exam - you also need to be in class and paying attention to what's going on). The text book supplements the lectures and can will describe some of the concepts that I talk about in a different fashion.
