Marking of Assignment 3

Submission requirements (9 marks): Include a README file (a document created with a text editor such as Notepad or a word processor such as MS-Word).

• List of program functions: clearly and correctly lists the features that have been implemented in the program that has been submitted (4 marks)
• Student contact information: this is the information listed in the general submission requirements. (2 marks)
• Special program requirements: describe exactly what is needed to run your program. What data files (sound and image) are needed and where should they be located. (You must also explicitly state if your program doesn’t need these types of files as well). (3 marks)
• Missing data files (Sound/image files needed by your program are not submitted on time with the rest of your submission): - 2 marks

Program documentation (3 marks)

• Version number of the program (1 mark)
• Limits of the program (2 marks)

Program functionality (38 marks)

• Displays a splash screen that appears as the program loads. The splash screen consists of an image and text that is added using the JES ‘addText’: 2 marks
• Prompts the user for the number of players: 1 mark
• Reads in the user’s selection for the number of players: 1 mark
• Repeatedly promptings the user if the number of players is not a valid amount (0 – 2) until the player enters a valid number of players: 3 marks
• Allows the player to select a default for the number of players (if negative then the game will assume that there’s zero players (modifies the looping condition – if it’s been implemented - in the previous point, the repetitive prompting only occurs if the player enters a value larger than 2, if this feature is implemented then the game will set the number of human players to zero and stop prompting the player to enter the number of players)  4 marks
• Displays a menu of allowable gestures: 1 mark if displayed with print, 3 marks if displayed using raw_input
• Reads each player's selected gesture in the form of a single lower case character. 1 mark
• Can determine if an invalid gesture has been selected (foul) and if so gives the player a forced rock as their gesture: 4 marks
• Compares the gestures for the players and can correctly determine and display onscreen via print statements: which player is the winner, which player is the loser or if there is a tie. 9 marks (1 for each case)
• Displays a different image for each of the three cases: tie, player one wins, player two wins: 3 marks
• Plays a different sound for each of the three cases: tie, player one wins, player two wins: 3 marks
• The game allows for computer vs. human mode: 2 marks
• The game allows for computer vs. computer mode: 2 marks
