TDM (Time Division Multiplexing)*
users take turns (round robin), each one getting entire bandwidth for a little burst of time
similar to time-sharing on computers
no interchannel interference
tends to be "bursty" rather than continuous; needs high bandwidth during bursts;
but round robin may be inefficient for bursty traffic, as some time slots not used
