Section breakdowns (right out of your final)

Notice that I have not explicitly asked you any questions about the material prior to the midterm.  In addition to this I've decided not to ask you any questions that will be unique to the assigned readings (i.e., it's in the readings but not covered in lecture).  But you still should go over them anyhow to help enrich your understanding of the concepts covered in this course.  There is only one multiple choice question on the exam, the rest are short answer questions. 

Breakdowns by the type of exam question

1) Questions that focus on testing for knowledge ~24% of the total exam marks

e.g., list the four characteristics of a task

2) Questions that test how well students understand concepts ~42% of the total exam

e.g., List and briefly describe the steps in the Task-centered approach to system design

3) Questions that require you to apply your understanding of the concepts in the course ~34% of the total exam

e.g., Given the TRAVELweather system find 12 violations of Nielsen's usability heuristics.
