1) Make sure you read the assignment specifications for each assignment!
2) Unless otherwise noted in the individual assignment specification, the assignment must be completed with a Unix script in the following fashion:
3) (For the assignments which involve writing computer programs A3 - A7). As well as handing in a paper printout of the assignment (requirement no. 2 above) you must electronically submit your assignment while logged into Unix with the utility program called "submit". More details on how to use this program (and the complementary program "showstuff") will be provided in labs during the semester.
4) Each assignment should have the following information on the inside cover (not the outside cover)
5) Assignments must reflect your individual work - you are not allowed to copy the work of other students. Any suspected cases of cheating will be forwarded onto the Dean of Science, which may result in penalties such as failing the course or even expulsion from the university.
6) Assignments are due at 4 PM on the indicated due date. Late assignments will not be accepted. In the cases where there are extenuating circumstances (e.g., illness) the student must present the appropriate documentation (e.g., a doctor's note) to the Course Instructor. Extensions cannot be granted by the Lab Instructors / Teaching Assistants.
7) You must attempt in a substantial fashion at least 5 out of 7 assignments in order to get a C- or higher in the course.
