Evolutionary & Swarm Design

In a strategic game between two players, it can be shown that behavior that appears to benefit an opponent, that is, seemingly altruistic behavior, in fact benefits the altruistic player. Likewise, behavior that seems to be gratuitously spiteful can also be shown to have direct benefit to the player. Unfortunately, the analysis fails when multiple players are involved. We try to use genetic algorithms and simulated annealing to explore the direct strategic effects of altruism and selfishness in competing teams of an evolving game.
